Short for Networks Operations Center. Normally provides 24x7 monitoring of the Network including: real-time network status, performance reporting, real-time alarming, event correlation and forecasting.
Node
In networks, a processing location. A node can be a computer or some other device, such as a printer. Every node has a unique network address, sometimes called a Data Link Control (DLC) address or Media Access Control (MAC) address.
NT (Windows NT)
An advanced version of the Windows operating system. Windows NT is a 32-bit operating system that supports preemptive multitasking. There are actually two versions of Windows NT: Windows NT Server, designed to act as a server in networks and Windows NT Workstation for stand-alone or client workstations.
